Alisa Wright Colopy Founder/President Alisa has a BA in Sociology and a BS in Psychology. She earned a master degree in psychology with an emphasis in counseling, as well as a master degree in public health with a concentration in health promotion and education. She is ABD (and will remain so) on her doctorate in health administration. Alisa has experience as a college administrator, university professor, and physical/health educator. Alisa has been a triathlete since 1982. She has a passion for fitness and health that is evident in every aspect of her life. She developed the Middle School Fitness programs at the Cary YMCA, engaging young teens and pre-teens in physical activities geared towards healthy lifestyles. Read More about Alisa >>> |

Glen Wright Colopy Board of Directors Member since 2003, Volunteer since 2001 After years of volunteering, in 10th grade Glen started taking a greater interest in the operations of his family’s 501c3 company Fit & Able Productions, Inc. His interest not only focuses on the process of event production but also how to maximize revenue while maintaining quality of athletic events, especially events for children, which are typically an aside to an adult event rather than the main event. He advises on streamlining event set-up, expand marketing through social networking and researches alternative suppliers for better pricing. Glen has been involved with Fit and Able activities since completing Fit and Able’s first “Plunge, Pedal and Plod Triathlon” in the 5th grade. Throughout Middle School he won several Triathlon Age Group Championships. At Cary Academy, he ran for the Cross Country and Track team beginning in 7th grade, during which time he won many all conference awards, an all state award and set a school record in the 1600. It was during his time in high school that Glen made the transition from a Fit and Able Athlete to a Fit and Able volunteer and assistant race director. He also helped coach countless younger athletes in YMCA and Fit and Able Triathlon Programs. His other volunteer experiences include Boy Scouts of America, in which he earned the rank of Eagle Scout, KASSEL- Make A Difference Run, and Celebrate Cary at Sunset. He has experience working with many Triangle businesses, including Rosen Law Firm, Impact Athletics and Lochmere Swim and Tennis Club, the Cary Family YMCA, the Triangle Area YMCA, where he interned with the Vice President of Finance to help with the “We Build People” Campaign, Impact Athletics and Lochmere Swim and Tennis Club. Glen currently runs for the William and Mary Cross County and Track Teams. He is also a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Alpha Lambda Delta Honors Fraternity and Phi Eta Sigma Honors Society. He will graduate from William and Mary in the June of 2009 with a BS in Mathematics and a BA in Economics. |

Travis Wright Colopy Board of Directors Member since 2001, Volunteer since 1998 Travis has demontrated a strong commitment to the communities in which he lives. Since 1997 he has dedicated hundreds of hours to the Boy Scouts of America, the YMCA, Kassel - Make A Difference Events, Paint the Town , Heroes for Humanity, the Cary Community Foundation and of course as a primary volunteer and Board of Directors member to Fit & Able Productions, Inc. Currently he is working on Fit & Able Productions projects for 2009 including Celebrate Cary at Sunset, Cary Rapids Swim Meet, Carolina RailHawks Dance Team, and the RailHawk Run. Travis is currently in his senior year at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg VA majoring in History and Philosophy. Travis has worked in a variety of settings including Fit & Able, the YMCA, Lochmere Swim & Tennis Club, and Impact Athletics & Fitness Center. He has also interned at the North Carolina Attorney General’s Office and Rosen Law Firm. Most recently Travis has ventured to start his own small business and is Founder of True Vision Promotions which helps challenged individuals reach their dreams. Travis has been involved in many Extra-Curricular Activities such as serving on the Dual SAIS/SACS Re-Accreditation Committee for Cary Academy, establishing the Young Conservatives/Republicans Club, Cary Academy, participating on the William & Mary Crew Team, serving as a founding Brother of Alpha Tau Omega, College of William & Mary and is a Brother of Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Society. Travis collected many honors and awards along the way, a few being the YMCA Spot Light on Service, Scholars Honor Roll at Cary Academy, Eagle Scout of the Boy Scouts of America, National Honor Society, Varsity Letters in Cross-Country, Swimming, Track & Field, and most recently inducted as a member of the Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society. |

Carla Nowicki Board Member Carla is a student at Appalachian State University studying nutrition. She has participated in many sports throughout her youth, starting with gymnastics at five years old, and then on to track, cross country and junior triathlons. She returned to competitive gymnastics during high school and achieved a Level 8 standing. More recently Carla has been introduced into the world of marathon running and plans to run more. In her first marathon, The Marine Corps Marathon this past October, she placed 18th in her age-group within an overall field of over 30,000 runners. Carla is a certified personal trainer, working on the ASU campus as she studies. |

In addition to bringing logistical skills to help ensure that events produced by Fit and Able Productions are a success, James has a knack for motivating participants with unbridled enthusiasm and support. As a professional photographer, James captures the essense of Fit and Able events and is responsible for virtually all images found on this website. |

Gurudutt Lingashastry Board Member A familiar face in all Fit and Able events in the past 3 years, Gurudutt is an avid fitness and sports enthusiast having been on the college swimming and volleyball teams. Having been an event organiser since school days, he brings many years of experience and loads of enthusiasm in making events a success. His organising skills and unwavering commitment have been vital in achieving Fit and Able's mission. |

Paul Nowicki Board Member Paul has been involved with Fit and Able Productions from many angles: as a parent of young girls involved in Fit and Able events, a race volunteer, part of the production crew, and even as a participant. As a distance open-water swimmer and ironman triathlete himself, Paul's lives the lifestyle of the Fit and Able mission. Paul is the creator and event director of Swim to Remember and is the webmaster for this site. |
